WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW ABOUT IMAC REPAIR

iMacs are very reliable in general, and apart from a few flaws, it’s a machine which should not break, ever.

iMacs live a long life! You can easily spot like-new 2009 “thick” iMacs. The aluminum body is basically indestructible, and if you just take a little care of your iMac, it can serve you through the next decade. Current iMacs can be roughly divided into two generations: “thick” (produced before 2012) and “thin” (after 2012) with two models in each generation: 21.5 and 27-inch screens.

  • “Thick” iMacs: A1311 (21.5), A1312 (27)
  • “Thin” iMacs: A1418 (21.5), A1419 (27)

*********************************************************

Main services we provide:

    • Front glass / LCD replacement

The main difference regarding the repair between the generations is in the LCD: with the “thick” one, the LCD and the front glass are two different parts, while the “thin” one has a new laptop-style LCD assembly where the front glass is attached to the LCD. It means two things: the new LCD has much more contrast, but if you break the glass it’s not possible to replace it without the LCD.

    • Dust cleaning

One major flaw specific to all contemporary desktop computers is present in all iMacs as well: it’s the dust accumulating inside the body. The dust inside can cause the internal components to overheat and then, consequently to break. The most heat-sensitive part is a GPU. GPU repair is not something anybody can possibly enjoy, but it’s relatively simple to avoid: just do the cleaning once every few years.
Unlike desktop PCs, iMacs are not easy to disassemble, and therefore it’s better to trust your iMac to somebody who knows how to deal with it.

    • RAM Upgrade:-

With a few exceptions* iMacs are upgrade-friendly: you can add RAM, replace the traditional HDD with an SSD drive and even have a fusion drive upgrade on a capable machine.
Both upgrades (RAM and SSD) have a decisive impact on overall performance. You definitely will notice the boost.

* Over the last few years Apple have produced a few 21.5 inch iMacs with the RAM, which is not possible to replace: mid 14 and late 15 (both 4K Retina and HD display).

Steps we take together to repair your Mac

When you call or visit our lab, an English speaking customer service representative will give you the price and timeframe estimation for your Mac. It is worth knowing that what needs to be repaired is not always visible (it may not even be possible to say anything in advance in case of liquid spillage, for example) therefore, the checkup is always needed, even when both you and us think we know what the problem is.

Checkup costs vary, but are usually around 200nis only. The checkup procedure may be very different regarding the timespan and labour, but we’re trying to make it as quick as possible. If you want to know what’s included in the checkup process, please click here

After the checkup has been made we inform you of the price and all the possible options. You make the decision, and we perform the repair. The timeframe for the repair depends on many factors, the main of which is parts availability. If you don’t have time to lose, we can offer a spare MacBook for rent.

We will contact you, usually by SMS, when your Mac ready for pickup. The service fee is paid only upon finishing the repair and after your inspection. Usually, the warranty is six months or one year, with the possibility to extend it up to two years.

MacMini Repair in Pune

Mac mini repair and upgrade made easy

  • Thousands of Mac minis repaired in our Jerusalem and Tel Aviv labs since 2012
  • RAM, HDD and PSU replacements served from the local stock
  • Our usual warranty for the Mac mini repair – one years]
  • Mac mini upgrade options: RAM and SSD disk upgrades
  • Have your Mac mini repaired by the most well-known lab in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem!

We service almost all Mac mini models including the most recent ones. Mac mini is pretty easy to repair if it comes to RAM, Fan and HDD, and almost impossible to fix if the motherboard is broken. The cause is pretty simple: Mac minis are not high-end computers and complex repairs simply not worth it. Call us and discuss your problem, so we can help you understand the checkup procedure and costs involved.

What should you know about Mac mini repair

Mac mini is a simple and reliable computing solution: it lacks most of the vulnerabilities of the modern laptops and desktops and is almost indestructible (at least, without specialized equipment and a good cause).

Most of the operations we do with the Mac minis are upgrades: usually after a few years you will feel that it is not as responsive as it was. Maybe new software or the new Mac OS requires more RAM?

  • RAM upgrade

RAM upgrades are available for any Mac mini with one exception: the last late 2014 modification has a soldered memory without any possibility to add a new module or replace the old one.

  • HDD upgrade

Another pinch point is the HDD speed: standard HDDs have the actual spinning disk inside (the mechanism has stayed the same for the last 40 years, and it’s the most ancient piece of hardware inside your Mac mini). Most of the current computing solutions include new chip storage – SSD (stands for Solid State Disk, but there’s no disk inside, it’s just a figure of speech), which can even be ten times faster! We recommend replacing the HDD to SSD if you are not going to replace the whole computer anytime soon.
